Job Description

Manage all accounting transactions of the hospital;

Use quick books and other accounting software to prepare company accounts;

Prepare budget forecasts for regularly purchased items so that they are supplied on time and changes in pricing can be tracked;

Publish financial statements for the year on time;

Prepare daily income and expense statement in a timely manner;

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable;

Ensure timely bank payments and follow up and receivables;

Compute taxes and prepare tax returns on time;

Ensure a proper filing system for all matters handled;

Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements;

Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity by having proper documentation of income and expenditure and what items may be bleeding cash;

Audit financial transactions and documents;

Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary;

Comply with financial policies and regulations and keep updated on all changes;

Compute and compile HMO bills on a daily basis and ensure bills are delivered on monthly;

Ensure all pending bills are followed up and settled;

Liaise with auditors, customers to ensure bill collection and smooth relationship;

Advice management on any financial and monetary matters for the improvement of the organization;

Maintain petty cash flow and records;

Include under taxes, personal and company remittance on timely basis;

Ensure prompt payment of staff pension deductions and documentation;

Prepare staff salary payment schedule on a timely basis;

Any other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Operating Officer

Must be resident in Lagos State

Qualifications

Must hold BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree;

Must have 3 years work experience as Accountant;

Must possess excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

Experience with general ledger functions;

Must have hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks;

Must have advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

Must have strong attention to details and good analytical skills

Additional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA or CMA) is a plus.
